What We Do
Club Meetings
We meet on alternate Tuesday mornings and members generally arrive around 10.00am to get together with other members for coffee/tea and biscuits. At 10.30am we have a talk from an invited speaker and this will be on any of a wide range of interesting subjects. Details of previous and future talks are shown on the 'List of Speakers' page
Bowls/Snooker
A group of members meet on Monday and Thursday mornings at 10am at Timperley Village Club for a game of Bowls in summer and Snooker in winter. These are social events; many of the group had never played either Bowls or Snooker before. All members are invited to join us, new players are always welcome. Three annual competitions also take place and trophies are awarded.
Meals/Luncheon Group
A number of lunches take place during the year for members, wives, partners and guests. On Wednesday afternoons, in weeks when there is not a meeting, members visit a local pub for an enjoyable meal.
Events/Visits/Trips
Visits to places of special interest and theatre trips are frequently arranged and these are open to members and their guests. Past trips have included a Canal Boat Cruise, tour of Manchester Town Hall, Private Guided Tour of John Rylands Library, Cheethams School of Music followed by lunchtime recital, Lancaster Castle, World of Glass and Bridgewater Hall. Details of past and future events are shown on the Home page.
